# Roles

Revefi provides role-based access control (RBAC) to help manage user permissions and access levels across different features of the platform.

# Roles

The following roles are available out of the box from Revefi. Customers can also create custom roles as needed.

## Default Roles

### Admin

At a high level, Admin role has complete access to all the features in Revefi. The admin can add/edit/delete connections within Revefi.

### Editor

Editor role has access to create/modify monitors. This roles does not have the permissions to add/edit/delete connections within Revefi.

### Viewer

View only access in Revefi.

### API User

Access to Revefi's Public APIs. This role is meant for service accounts that interact with Revefi through APIs.

## Custom Roles

Customers can create new custom roles using the **New Custom Role** option.

## Access Level

### Owner

Owner access level on roles gives the user the permission to modify the role itself if needed

### Member

Member access level on roles implies the user has the role but they cannot modify the role itself.
